Joe Solomon now in his late eighties, played for 27 tests for the  West Indies during 1958-1965 scoring some 1326 runs.

Action in the tournament continues this Sunday around the country.And the Guyana Open Golf Tournament got its youngest winner on Sunday when Arvinda Kishore playing with a 5 handicap held off seasoned campaigner Patrick Persaud to take the prestigious title. The Female crown was never in danger as Christine Sookram showed she is in a class of her own winning the trophy for the seventh time.  The event was this year sponsored by Telephone giant Digicel after the decision by regular sponsor Banks DIH not to be  part of the event this year.
