City Hall approves street vending during Christmas season
City mayor Hamilton Green is giving street vendors the green light for the upcoming Christmas season, but he is warning those vendors that they must do so in an orderly matter and keep their surrounding clean. He said the council would not allow any new vendors during this period.
And the move by the town clerk to remove those street orderlies is not going down well with the mayor.
For years street vending has been a problem for the Georgetown mayor and city council. The mayor said the issue of street vending has to be looked at from the prospective of the social-economic problems facing many of the persons who are looking for their livelihood.
