The Georgetown Cricket association will have a busy time ahead as they get set for their Noble House Seafoods second division 2 day competition as well as the Carib Beer  First Division T/20 tournament which is sponsored by Ansa Mc Al. The teams will be divided into zones and the T 20 competition Bowls off this Sunday while the 2 day competition starts in 7 days time. Darshanie Yusuf was there representing Ansa Mc Al and she said they were very pleased too continue their sponsorship of the event.

 And in tri-nations T/20 play: after a thrilling tie with England on Thursday the West Indies women prevailed in a super over in Barbados. West Indies batted first and made 118/7 with Stefanie Taylor top scoring with 40. England were then restricted to the same score losing the same number of wickets with Taylor coming back to take 3 wkts for 15. The super over saw England making 9 runs which the WI knocked off in just 2 balls.

The two teams will face each other in the Finals of the series tomorrow in Barbados.

The Courts pee wee schools football tournament is set to continue this weekend at the Ministry of Education Ground Carifesta Avenue with 4 quarterfinal matches slated

10:00 hrs – St Pius Primary    v/s   F.E. Pollard – Quarterfinal
11:00 hrs – St Margaret’s    v/s   East La Penitence Primary – Quarterfinal
12:00 hrs – Tucville Primary    v/s   Enterprise Primary – Quarterfinal

And the Digicel Ride for Life is set for this Sunday as they team up with the Cycling Federation to run off the event which will start in the Mining town of Linden and end for the seniors at Carifesta Avenue. The Juniors and seniors will start at the Four corners and ladies and upright starts at Splashmins  on the Linden Soesdyke highway.  Race time is 7 in the morning and Over a million dollars in prize money will be up for grabs.
