National boxer Clive the punisher Atwell is calling on the authorities to do more for boxers in the country. He said local boxers need to be compensated properly.
The cabofe champion  Atwell was very out spoken following his  demolishing of Jamaican boxer Glenroy Beckford, knocking him out in the second round of the twelve round card on Sunday at the cliff Anderson sports hall .
The two boxers were the headline card on the Guyana fight night pro Am card.
The Jamaican boxing camp said they are hoping for a rematch soon since they were  only given short notice to  prepare for the fight
The wonder boy Edmond De Clou may now have to wonder what his future in boxing would be like as he suffered a broken jaw in his match against Derrick Richmond.
The fight had to be stopped in the third of the eight round affair while Declou had to be rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
Edmond Declou was expected to defend his caboffe title sometime next year but with this injury this might be a big set back for him
Dexter Marques won a unanimous  decision over Richard Williamson in their bantam- weight eight round match up.

GDF defeated University of Guyana 19-12 in the finals at the national park on Sunday. The army’s victory came from two tries by national player Avery Corbin and captain Clyde Powell.
A single try by national sprinter Alisha Fortune was all it took for hornets women to defeat Carib women who have several national players in their lineup.
Banks marketing brand manager Mortimer Stuart encouraged the ruggers to maintain their discipline as they improve their game
The countrie’s  ruggers  are currently preparing for the IRB Caribbean championship.
