Guyana and Barbados continue to work together on several areas of interest to both Countries.
Immigration issues aside Guyana and Barbados are collaborating on several areas of interest and at the conclusion of the recent Joint Commission Guyanese fishermen would have been pleased to hear that the two countries have agreed to set up a licencing arrangement which will be of benefit to both countries. The area for joint utilization is the overlap in the Exclusive Economic Zone of the two countries that has been delimited in accordance with the Law of the Sea convention. This is according to Minister of Foreign Affairs Carolyn Rodrigues
Also on the cards is an arrangement that will see Barbadian students coming for training at Guyana School of Agriculture.
Barbados will also be assisting Guyana in selling itself as a tourist destination and also offer training in a number of areas in the hospital sector. This was disclosed by Senator Maxine Mc Clean
Senator Mc Clean also noted that the use of IT in training in the hospitality Sector is another area of collaboration to be worked on.
