AFC on Budget 2014 talks

AFCThe Alliance for Change (AFC) has signalled its readiness for talks with the government on the 2014 budget.

AFC Leader Khemraj Ramjattan says his party does not want to start any confrontation with the government this time around.

He said the tripartite engagement will begin once A Partnership for National Unity agrees to a date after cancelling just last week.

The AFC plans to also table four bills in the National Assembly when parliament restarts next month.

For the last two budgets the government and the Opposition parties have found themselves at loggerheads  on issues pertaining to the annual presentation.

With the three not being able to reach agreement the Opposition which holds a one seat majority in the National Assembly have recently been cutting  the budget once the government cannot defend its proposed spending.
