The Office of Professional Responsibility has cleared police ranks of torture allegations.
The man alleged then that he was beaten and tortured by the police in their quest to get a confession, so he reported the matter to The Office Of Professional Responsibility of the Guyana Police Force. Today Chase received a letter indicating that there is insufficient evidence to take action against the ranks and OPR considered the matter closed.
Chase believes that justice is dead in the country. Chase said that incident has left a stain on his life that he is finding difficult to deal with.
The man said he produced all the medical certificates to show the extent of the injuries he sustained and he is upset over the entire situation.
