Top Cop encourages residents to fight back Crime in their community.
When the Top Cop met with residents of Meten Meer Zorg on Sunday he had one clear message for residents and citizens across the country and that is to “Take Back Their Community” from Criminal Elements.
The Commissioner also had words for licensed Firearm Holders who he urged not to be selfish. He told the residents they need to be their brother’s keeper. He also urged residents to continue to pass on information to the police and to give evidence against those who are charged with the businessman’s murder.
Crime Chief Seelall Persaud also addressed the gathering. He spoke about identifying risk factors and coming up with projects to mitigate against risks.
According to Persaud building partnerships within the communities is a key focus.
Just about two weeks ago gunmen created havoc in the Community killing a business after robbing his Grocery Store.
Last Friday the police charged 8 persons including a woman for the murder of the businessman.
