TGH Pacesetters inter-ward basketball quarterfinal action begins
Athletics: The National Parks will over the coming months be upgraded to ensure the facility can be used in all types of weather conditions. Capitol News caught up with Commissioner on the Protected Areas Commission Damien Fernandes who said that the athletics field will be the first to be raised since it is the easiest to be flooded.
Fernandes said the under the programme security around the park is very much on the radar and they have been taking steps to ensure this is maintained
The commissioner also called for all those who are concerned and can help to come forward since it is a huge under-taking .
Similar works are also expected for the National zoo as well as the Botanical gardens.
Basketball: Action in the TGH Pacesetters inter-ward basketball quarterfinal action begins this evening with 2 games at the Cliff Anderson Sports hall. First up at 8 will be Mc Doom/Diamond taking on Wortmanville/Werk-en-Rust while the second game brings together Plaisance /Vryheid’s Lust taking on Lodge/Meadow-brook. Tournament sponsor Ansa McAl under its Mackeson brand is promising lots of giveaways for the fans.
Football: The Tucville Ground will be where the football action is tonight in the GFF Premier league playoffs. The Georgetown Zone playoff will see two fixtures starting at 6 with Fruta Conquerors taking on Santos and in the feature match at 8, Riddim Squad against Camptown.
Lawn Tennis: Action continued over the weekend in the GBTI sponsored tournament at the GBTI club in Bel Air Park. Most of the matches are at the semifinal stage in the various categories and the action will continue this weekend at the National Park and Racquet centre.
