PPP Government blames the opposition for the recent upsurge in crime
At the party’s press conference Legal Affairs Minister Anil Nandlall said the recent upsurge cannot be the Government’s responsibility alone. He feels all political parties and politicians have a role to play.
The Minister said the PPP rejects statements emanating from the APNU and AFC seeking to lay blame at the doorstep of the Government.
Nandlall did not stop there as he acknowledged the statements by the opposition parties in Parliament about the danger of gun crimes. He sought to use the spiraling crime situation to drum up support for the Firearms Bill that was voted down.
It was Commissioner of Police Leroy Brumell who said recently there is no need to press the panic bottom following the recent spate of execution-style killings.
The top cop is also calling on Guyanese to be more security conscious.
