St. Vincent’s PM wants Guyana and other countries to invest in Regional airline LIAT
St Vincent and Grenadines PM Ralph Gonsalves says he would love to see other countries including Guyana invest in Regional airline LIAT. The 3 original share- holders are Gonsalves own St Vincent and the Grenadines , Barbados, and Antigua and Barbuda . Gonsalves said that others have expressed an interest.
PM Gonsalves responding to a question by Capitol News at the Pegasus on Monday Afternoon. Liat has been experiencing serious financial difficulties over a number of years and The prime Minister said that with the acquisition of the new ATR aircraft more markets can be served but it calls for more resources
Liat recently acquired the new ATR’s but has experienced innumerable delays in flights over the past few months as they adjust their Pilots and other staff to the new aircraft. In the absence of a National carrier Guyana relies on LIAT as one of two regional airlines to service the Georgetown destination.
