Caribbean entertainment and culture a major source of revenue for the Region – Caricom Secretary General
The region’s top Diplomat believes that packaging aspects of our culture to sell to the wider world and the Caribbean region is important and a move was made in this direction at the recent Carifesta in Suriname.
Caricom Secretary General Irwin La Roque told Capitol News that a workshop was held with this in mind.
Ambassador La Roque said that the benefits of such a move will be significant to the region’s economic development.
The Secretary General of Caricom said that there are positive changes happening at each Carifesta and this can only serve to make the event better each time it comes around.
Carifesta X1 was held under the theme ‘Culture For Development’.
