Alpha United stamped its class once again and silenced its critics to beat Slingerz FC

The match at the GFC gorund Bourda was played at a very physical level as both teams sought to stamp their authority, but it was Alpha‘s Captain Dwight Peters that started the ball rolling   in the 29th minute. Kithson Bain then doubled the score before Slingerz Colin Nelson  made it 2-1 going into the half. It was after the Half that Andrew Murray scored his double to put the match out of Slingerz’ reach even though Devon Millington scored in the 63rd minute to make it 4-2.

Slingerz’ 2 goals came from Colin Nelson and Devon Millington but the Damage had already been done by the ‘Hammer’.

President of Alpha United Odinga Lumumba said the success of Alpha shows what proper organization can achieve.

Slingers will still walk away with a million dollars for their efforts.

And the Georgetown girls taught the lasses from Bartica a lesson as they blanked them 4-0. Sasha James scored a double and one each came from Andrea Lashley and Neshana C

Power lifting: Record breaking Guyanese powerlifter Gumendra shewdass said he put in a lot of hard work and is seeing the rewards for his efforts.

Shewdass last week, became this country’s youngest power lifting world champion.
