Acid attack victim continues to suffer with her wounds after speaking out over noise nuisance

acid victimEven as the Police continues to probe the acid-burning incident of Kitty resident Mala Persaud, the woman is expressing frustration with the lack of progress so far.

Close to three months since the incident Persaud said her wounds are still not healed and it is creating a strain on her pocket, since she has to seek medical attention at a private institution. In fact, Persaud told this newscast that she did a corrective surgery a few days ago after she was having trouble breathing.

The woman was burnt in the face, hands, legs and other parts of the body.

Persaud believes that she was a victim of her outspokenness. It was days after Station Street Kitty residents expressed their disgust over the noise nuisance and lawlessness that was taking place in the street, that  an unknown person came to her shop to make a purchase  and doused Persaud with acid.

Apart from a few incidents in the street, the Police has tried to maintain law and order in Station street.
