Timehri residents affected by deplorable road, loss of cash crop and flooding
It’s not an easy road for Alliance Road, Hyde Park Timehri residents, who are faced with several issues. These include the deplorable state of the road, poor drainage of the land, the loss of cash crops and in some cases, livestock.
The residents said whenever it rains, to get in and out of this dam is difficult. For some residents the problem is compounded as a result of the rising high tides, coupled with the koker not properly attended to by the attendant.
When this Newscast visited the community today residents told us that they are beginning to feel like they are being left in the dark for too long. They vowed to be more outspoken until they are given proper attention.
The main access road to the community was recently resurfaced reportedly at a cost of 9 million dollars. AFC Member of Parliament, Trevor Williams was on hand to meet the aggrieved residents and he is calling on the authorities to look into the plight of the community.
Around 300 families are said to be living in the community.
