Cocaine discovered in Ochro at Cheddi Jagan International Airport
As Guyanese drug pushers come up with ingenious ways of getting the illicit substance out of this country, ranks of the Police Narcotics Branch intercepted some 15 kilograms of cocaine at the Timehri International Airport on Monday afternoon.
According to a Police report, the narcotics were discovered stuffed in ochroes among a shipment of vegetables that were in a cargo bond. The Police have since arrested two men who are now in custody assisting with the investigations.
It was just over two weeks ago a bag was found at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport beyond the security areas with over 20 pounds of cocaine. For years, drug traffickers have been pushing out cocaine in vegetables and other items.
