The Rhythm of drums could be heard around the National Park as ACDA celebrates Emancipation Day
The event is aimed at remembering the African men and women who fought for the August 1, 1838 liberation of slaves.
Persons who spoke with this Newscast said the day’s event is just a reminder of where their ancestors came from and the struggles they endured for freedom.
This little girl in her African print did not leave out her pet goat since it was also dressed for the occasion. Under the theme “Honouring our Heroes” ACDA hosted the annual event.
Around the National Park several booths were erected displaying things African whether it was the food, hair style, and even literature.
