Man on the run after he brutally chops reputed wife and children in Sophia community
Up to late this afternoon Dorothy Blackman was in a critical condition, unable to breathe on her own, after she was hacked by her reputed husband last night in Sophia.
The man, Shawn Fordyce, also turned the weapon on his 12-year-old daughter and two of his foster children, leaving them with chop wounds about their bodies. Capitol News understands that the 12-year-old is still to regain consciousness since both of her hands were severed by her out of control father.
Fordyce who was a former Policeman, now a newspaper vendor at the corners of Church and Alexander Streets, is on the run.
One of his daughters who managed to escape uninjured told Capitol News that her father became upset after her mom was preparing to go to the Oldies dance at Transport with her aunt.
The girl said he began quarreling when he whipped out a cutlass from his waist and started chopping her mom, she said her older sister went to her rescue and was also chopped.
At the hospital last night family members were in total shock over this development. One of Blackman’s sisters spoke of what she was told of the incident.
After wrestling with the girls the man finally lost control of the weapon and fled the scene. He has not been seen since.
