Body of missing school boy fished out of Atlantic Ocean in the vicinity of Victoria
A Golden Grove Secondary school student was this morning fished out of the Atlantic Ocean in the vicinity of Victoria after he went missing last Monday. There are reports that the lad and his friends went for a swim around this area at the seawalls foreshore. It is here that Kenny Hope was found dead.
His mother Donna Hope said she last saw her son on Monday when he assisted her in taking her bread to the bakery. She told the media that she became suspicious after searches around the community came up empty handed. She said it was not until yesterday that they found his slippers, pants and jersey around the area he reportedly went for a swim. The woman said her attempts to get information from his friends who he normally would associate with were not helpful. Both of the young man’s parents spoke to the media.
A relative spoke of what she saw when the body was removed from the scene. And she is not ruling out foul play.
The discovery sent shockwaves throughout the community as persons gathered in disbelief. The body was transported to a city funeral home. A post mortem examination is expected to be conducted on the body.
