Mother still seeks justice two years later after Muslim Scholar allegedly molested her four sons
Justice is the cry of the mother of four boys who claimed to have been sexually molested by a Muslim scholar and Imam almost two years ago. She wants to see the court case involving her sons move along, saying the case continues to be delayed.
The mother is holding out that given the serious nature of the allegations being laid against the Imam, enough is not being done to hold him accountable. She said her sons are finding it hard to move on with their normal lives.
According to the mother who is still a member of the Muslim community, the issue has been treated with neglect by the Central Islamic Organization of Guyana (CIOG). CIOG did not give a response to inquiries immediately when this newscast tried to get clarification on the issue.
Based on the information provided, the woman believes that her sons had been sexually assaulted between December 2011 and January 2012.
Police reports indicate that the man allegedly committed the act on several other boys.
The Imam, Nezaam Ali is attached to the Turkeyen Masjid where he continues to serve despite the charges laid against him.
