Elderly residents of Agricola seek to remove stigma of crime associated with that community

shot0005Some senior citizens have taken it upon themselves to create a positive image in the beleaguered community of Agricola.

The residents feel that imparting their knowledge and experience can be an asset in influencing the young minds.

To this end, the  day of recognition dubbed ‘No Longer Young” focused on honouring the senior citizens and their contributions to the community.

This initiative is the brainchild of Ingrid Coddle and she spoke of her drive to create a positive impact.

Long time Agricola resident Philomena Sahoye-Shury spoke of the glory days of the community.

The Police Scout groups and other NGO’s have been working overtime to build a better relationship with the law abiding citizens in the community and to rid the area of criminal elements.
