Nearly 15 Pounds of Cocaine found in NY the same day that a young woman was arrested with 9 pounds in Georgetown
Drug enforcement agents were busy on both sides of the Atlantic on July 3rd 2013. While Guyana was arresting a young American Woman off of flight BW 526 with 9 pounds of cocaine, the Agents in the US pulled in a 49-year-old man Winston Nicholas Carr who arrived at JFK on another Caribbean Airlines flight BW 524 that transited Port of Spain from Guyana earlier that day. The man had over 15 pounds of the prohibited substance in his luggage.
The woman Briana Ashley Rodney entered a guilty plea in Georgetown and was sentenced to four years in prison.
Over in New York, Nicholas Carr was arrested on July 3rd spent Independence Day (July 4th), in detention, but was sent on an $80,000 US dollar bail package when he appeared before a judge at the Brooklyn Federal Court on Friday. Carr arrived in New York with the drugs stashed in his luggage according to court documents.
