Chancellor of the Judiciary urges prosecutors and magistrates to seek more training – 21st Jun 2013
Chancellor of the Judiciary, Carl Singh believes that both Magistrates and Prosecutors must equip themselves with knowledge of the law in areas that are frequently canvassed in the courts as a matter of importance which cannot be overemphasized.
The Chancellor was speaking at a workshop dealing with confiscation of proceeds of financial crimes. Justice Singh has organised training programmes in various areas of the law, particularly on firearms and narcotic offences, which according to the Chancellor, are scourges in our society.
The Chancellor told the participants at the workshop not to let the training they receive go to waste. He said the Confiscation Guide is comprehensive and the training is timely and opportune. He said they must develop a sense of efficiency in the courts.
