Acting Chief Justice Ian Chang’s decisions baffle APNU legal minds – 14th Jun 2013
Some decisions by Acting Chief Justice Ian Chang continue to baffle the APNU legal minds and they have signaled their intention to have their intentions properly addressed. At a press briefing on Friday APNU point man on Legal Affairs Basil Williams said the decision by the CJ to cut Opposition Leader David Granger from the budget cuts court case is baffling.
Williams said they have already signaled their disagreement and said by the logic of the CJ, then the AFC will have to represent the Leader of the opposition and this is not a position they may feel comfortable with.
The APNU also took issue with the position by the AG to present evidence in the case by Affidavit, rather than have Cabinet Secretary Dr. Roger Luncheon appear on the stand to give evidence.
