West Indies & South Africa to face off for a spot in semi-finals – 13th Jun 2013

wi-ss-07-06-13Its do or die for the West Indies at the Oval tomorrow in England in their Champions Trophy campaign.

The West Indies beat Pakistan to open their campaign then lost to India in their second match. They must now beat South Africa tomorrow to make it to the semi-finals. Captain Dwayne Bravo is very upbeat about the team’s chances.

And with the Cricket Premier League coming  to Guyana some sporting  fans see great benefits not only for tourism, but for the Guyana Franchise  Team and the players from Guyana that will get the opportunity to play.

The Caribbean Premier League will bowl off on June 30 and 6 franchise teams including Guyana are set to face off for millions in Prize money. Guyana’s franchise has  been bought by Businessman Bobby Ramroop under his Limacol brand. That agreement was signed earlier this week.

The “Six head” Lewis/Sakina Mullings clash is on track at least from the camp of Six Head. The former world champ is in training and is looking forward  to the fight according to President of the Guyana Boxing Board of Control Peter Abdool.

Following his defeat of Howard Eastman in Guyana in April, the Jamaican Mullings called out the former world Champion and the two are expected to clash later this year.
