Relatives of dead Policeman unsatisfied with post mortem examination – 13th Jun 2013

shot0001Hours after the postmortem examination was conducted on the body of policeman Dorwin Pitman his relatives are expressing shock at the findings and they are requesting further explanations from the doctor who performed the postmortem.

Today this Newscast spoke to the young man’s mother Stacy Pitman at her North Road home and she said something is not adding up.

The Policeman was giving chase behind a prisoner who escaped from the Prashad Nagar Police outpost when he reportedly collapsed in his search for the man. Pitman said she is not satisfied with that pronouncement at all.

The woman said no family member was allowed to witness the PM even though several of them were present.  She said all they were allowed to do is identify the body.

According to reports the father of two worked the night-shift and was about to give the prisoners their meals when the incident occurred.

The Police reported that while handing meals to another prisoner, the suspect Akeem Edwards pushed down the Rank and ran out of the Outpost. That young man was scheduled for court on a charge of possession of narcotics. Pitman was found on the ground in an alley-way in North Sophia. Persons in the area told this Newscast that the young Policeman stumbled on an illegal connection that was left exposed.

The family are preparing for burial on Monday. The young Policeman was 23 years old and had two children; a 2-year-old and a 5-month-old baby.
