Fourth Building and Construction Expo launches – 3rd June 2013
Minister of Housing Irfaan Alli said the movement now must be to secure real long term strategies that are sustainable. He was speaking at the launch of the fourth Building and Construction Expo held at the Princess Hotel. The Minister outlined plans to shift industries and residential housing away from the flood prone Coastland.
Chairman of the PSC Ronald Webster said the building and construction sector is a significant contributor to Guyana’s overall development.
There was also support for the building expo and the iniatives by the Ministry of Housing by the President of the Guyana Manufacturers and Services Association Clinton Williams who said that the use of local materials must be emphasized in helping to grow the sector.
Building Expo 4 will run from July 5-7 at the National Stadium at Providence under the theme “Consolidating Partnerships for Sustainable Development”.
