Traffic Department urges road users to play greater attention to safety – 22nd May 2013
The Guyana Police Force’s Traffic Department is continuing its ‘Operation Safe Way’ campaign with the hope of curbing the reckless use of the road and reducing road fatalities. Traffic Chief Hugh Denhert told this Newscast education plays an integral part in the enforcement exercise.
He is reminding road users to be their brother’s keeper. The Traffic Chief noted that his department has netted some success against drivers driving under the influence, speeding and other lawless behaviours on the roads.
A mandate was given by the Police Commissioner Leroy Brumell to the traffic department to stake out nightspots and arrest persons who are in the habit of drinking and driving.
