31-year-old Mother of three brutally stabbed allegedly by her husband on Mother’s Day – 13th May 2013
Mariann Nauth, 31, was found in room in the K&VC Hotel with multiple stab wounds about her body, a knife and a rose were recovered next to the woman’s body. Staff members at the hotel who made the discovery immediately summoned the Police and rushed the woman to the hospital where she succumbed. According to reports the woman and the man checked into the hotel last Saturday.
At the woman’s home today her mother told this Newscast that Mariann left early Saturday afternoon to reach her husband at Demico near the Stabroek market.
The woman said her daughter was never in the habit of sleeping out, so she became worried after calling her cellphone and getting no answer.
The woman told this Newscast that the man was very abusive to her daughter during their 13-year relationship and always threatened to take her life. She said the couple separated for some time but the man would normally maintain his three children.
Up to news time, the suspect was still on the run. Women’s rights groups have been urging women to break the silence and speak out against any form of abuse.
