Suspect in fatal stabbing incident of 14-year-old girl in Police custody – 26th Apr 2013
After evading law enforcement officers for several hours, the suspect in the murder of the 14-year-old teenager Fenella Samuels was caught by alert citizens late last night. The capture was made after the suspect was attempting to catch a vehicle on the Public Road at Vreed-en-Hoop. Public-spirited citizens who made the arrest handed him over to the Police.
The man reportedly stabbed his step-daughter more than 20 times, following an altercation at their Plastic City squatting area home, at Vreed-en-Hoop. Samuels had accused her stepfather of sexually molesting her during an altercation between the two last Wednesday.
Her mother, who was in pain over the entire ordeal said, she was unaware that her husband was molesting her daughter.
The woman said her husband never demonstrated that kind of of violent behavior, but recalled that he had made threats on her life.
According to Josiah, her husband was having a few drinks at the time and proceeded to lock the doors of the home and threatened to kill all the occupants. She said she was standing between the two as a peacemaker. She was also injured during the altercation.
