Police Blotter: Four succumb after motor lorry topples – 8th Apr 2013
At about 22:00hrs on Saturday April 06, 2013, the driver of motor lorry GNN 8941 was proceeding up a hill at 115 Kilometres, Buckhall, when he lost control of the vehicle which was carrying a load of drums with diesel and other articles and a number of passengers.
The driver jumped out of the vehicle which began to roll backwards down the hill and toppled several times.
As a result, the following persons received injuries to which they succumbed – Aubrey Evans, 60 years, of Supenaam, Essequibo; George Persaud, 31 years, of Berbice; Pamela Solomon, 41 years, of ‘B’ Field, Sophia; and Richard Doobay, 33 years, of Riverstown, Essequibo.
Seven other persons received injuries and were brought out to the GPHC for medical attention.
Investigations are continuing.
