Plaisance residents protest Government’s move to construct a tower on land designated as a playfield – 2nd Apr 2013
The residents described the move as disgraceful and unfair.
The proposed tower is part of the E-governance programme that will facilitate the linking of the Government’s fiber-optic cable, that has been laid from Lethem to Linden, to the coastline, enabling internet access.
According to the residents, no consultation was done with the community before the work started. So they decided to put a stop to the exercise.
Plaisance residents vowed to ensure that their only place of recreation is not taken away by the Administration.
