WI win takes team to six consecutive test match wins since 1988 – 22nd Mar 2013
Shane Shillingford took 10 wickets and the WI needed just 42 overs in the second innings to demolish the Visiting Zimbabwean cricket team by an innings and 65 runs just before tea on day 3 of the 2nd and final test between the two sides. The Zimbabweans faced a deficit of 206 after the WI declared their 1st innings at 381/8 and Shillingford took 5-59 to add to his 1st innings 5-34, for a match haul of 10-93. It was a test match that saw centuries from 2 of WI’s most senior players, Opener Chris Gayle and Shivnarine Chanderpaul. The win now takes the WI to six consecutive test match wins which was last achieved in 1988.
