WI looks for a clean sweep of the test series against Zimbabwe – 19th Mar 2013
The third Edition of the Brain Street Under 15 cricket tournament was launched by the Georgetown Cricket Association at the Malteenoes Cricket Ground on Monday. The tournament has been credited with being a good feeder into the National programme.
Brain Street under 15 is sponsored by businessman, Lance Hinds, who said he is using the basic principles that is used in business.
President of the GCA, Roger Harper said, the format of the game forces the players to think. He said it is also designed to produce better citizens.
Ten teams will feature, including 2 from DCC, one from Queens College and a ladies team. The tournament bowls off at the Everest cricket club this weekend with DCC/A taking on DCC/B.
Football Milo/Petra Under 20 semi-final action gets underway on Wednesday at the Ministry of Education ground on Carifesta Avenue at 4 in the afternoon, it will be Carmel taking on St. George’s in what is expected to be a grueling match-up. Later in the evening Tucville and South Ruimveldt will battle it out to join the winner of the first game in the Finals.
Cricket: WI will be looking for a clean sweep of the 2-match test series against Zimbabwe when the 2 sides meet in Dominica for the 2nd and final test match. West Indies demolished the visiting Zimbabweans inside 3 days in Barbados last week, to win the first test.
