GT&T makes it possible to now bank, and pay bills using your cell phone – 13th Mar 2013
The Guyana Telephone & Telegraph company has now made it easier for customers to pay their bills and to do other financial transactions with the launch of their new and innovative Money Mobile service.
According to the just newly appointed CEO, Radha Sharma, the advent of the new service will transform the financial sector in the country.
Sharma said, as Guyana’s economy continues to grow, there will be a greater demand for a 24-hour financial service. He said too, that GT&T has recognized this demand and has expanded its service to offer ‘Mobile Money’.
Managing Director of the ‘Mobile Money’, Eshwar Thakurdin, spoke of the benefits of using the new service.
Meanwhile, the company’s CFO, Sonita Jagan, said the company is excited to now provide a service that is already used in several countries around the globe.
‘Mobile Money’ is a cross-platform service, allowing Digicel customers to also use the service, incurring a fee.
