Families benefit from Scotiabank’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme – 11th Mar 2013

Capture6Making dreams come through; and that’s exactly what the Bank of Nova Scotia did for two families as part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility Programme.

At the weekend, with assistance from Habitat for Humanity, the Bank will be assisting in the building of a house for Amanda Anthony.
Anthony, a mother of two said, the announcement came at the ideal time, since she is experiencing a rough patch.

The other mother who was on the receiving end was Vanessa Simon, a mother of five. Simon said she juggles some four odd jobs to enable her to fund her five boys through school.

She received a $50,000 gift voucher from Giftland Office Max and $100,000 from Scotia.

Also on the receiving end was 23-year-old Collis Augustine, who was named winner of the first international Scotiabank’s Bright Future Young Leaders Award. He received $2500 Canadian dollars to donate to any charity of his choice.
