sexual offences actThree years after President Bharrat Jadgeo assented to the Sexual Offence Act, women’s rights groups are still waiting to see its full implementation.

Today, Red Thread and Help and Shelter and other groups used the observance of International Women’s Day to protest critical importance of the act.

The two organizations are of the opinion that the Government needs to gets serious with the implementation of the Act, since women and children are suffering.
