President Donald Ramotar lashes out at the opposition at Babu John – 4th Mar 2013

babu johnPresident Donald Romator used one of the stronghold areas of the ruling party, to lash out at the opposition for what he described as a plot against his party.

He was speaking at the wreath laying ceremony of that party’s founder leader, Cheddi Jagan, at Babu John, Port Mourant .

Ramotor blamed the APNU and AFC for the recent unrest in Linden and Agricola and even had some strong words for former PPP executive Moses Nagamootoo.
Nagamootoo has been outspoken against the Government on accountability and corruption, but the President did not take kindly to those sentiments.
Prime minister Sam Hinds said that PPP/C has suffered a lot over the past 16 months under the new dispensation in Parliament, especially Minister Clement Rohee, who was gagged by the Speaker in the National Assembly. He said his party stands ready to go back to the poll and must reach out to have more people voting for the PPP/C.

His colleague Cabinet Minister Clement Rohee said his party is ready for any snap election. He said he the PPP remained committed to its supporters and made a pitch to return to work on the ground.

Hundreds from across the country turned out to pay their respects to the former President, Cheddi Jagan, who died some 16 years ago.
