Linden Commission of Inquiry findings submitted; report expected to be made public soon – 28th Feb 2013
Just under 4 weeks after the Commission called its last witness to give testimony in the Linden Commission of Inquiry, Justice Lensley Wolfe presented the findings to the Head-of-State, President Donald Ramotar, at the Office of the President. President Ramotar said he hope the report will help all to move on.
Justice Wolfe and his team of Commissioners were probing the events of July 18 2012 at Linden, where 3 young men were shot and killed and several others injured, during protests against electricity tariff hikes. Justice Wolfe said, that the task was a challenging one and that he and his colleagues believe that Justice has been done.
Justice Wolfe also stressed the importance of implementing the recommendations contained in the report.
