gplThe Union NAACCIE is expected to meet with the Chief Labour officer to issue an ultimatum to the utility company GPL on possible industrial action.

The company and the Union have been at odds for several months over wages and salary negations for GPL workers. NAACCIE General Secretary, Kenneth Joseph, told Capitol News that the Union is still demanding an 8% increase across the board, but GPL is offering a mere 1% across the board.

Joseph said, that the Union and GPL management will continue bilateral discussion later this week to discuss the company’s 1% offer.

Joseph said, the company has not given any indication to justify that they are unable to pay what the Union is asking for.
