Police blanks questions about who was the driver of the car involved in last Sunday’s fatal accident – 7th Feb 2013
Police Commissioner, Leroy Brummell said, he is not aware that the man they charged for Sunday’s crash in which two people were killed, may not have been the driver of the Toyota Tundra, which slammed into a bus on the Mon Repos public road.
Some Persons analyzing the crash have suggested that photographs taken at the scene may not accurately reflect who was really the driver. The level of injuries suffered by the driver, too, may have helped to fuel the suggestions that another person who was in the vehicle at the time was driving. Other reports, however, suggest that based on the position of the other occupant of the Tundra and due to the damage done to the vehicle, his only exit point was through the drivers’s side. This may have given fuel to the suggestion that he was the driver. There are reports that the other occupant in the Tundra, has since left this country.
Minibus driver, Godfrey Daniels of Berbice and Shondell Yaw of Beterverwagting, perished in the smash up. Several passengers from the minibus were also injured
