13-year-old student stabbed to his head with a pair of scissors by another student – 6th Feb 2013
Up to news time, Miggins remains in critical care at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
His devastated mother, Barbra Miggins, told Capitol News; she was notified of the incident when the ambulance arrived at her home.
The woman said from an x-ray that was taken, the doctors revealed that the stab wound was deep and it was touching some of her son’s brain tissues.
She said, after being transferred from the West Demerara Hospital, her son had to be taken in the theatre for immediate surgery.
The mother of five children, said she always try to instil in her children, that they must avoid violence in all its forms.
This incident follows Tuesday’s fatal stabbing of 14-year-old Student, Camelos Arthur of Achiwuib, South Rupunini, by another 15-year-old male student.
According to the police the two had an altercation on the play field when the latter stabbed Arthur.
Efforts to contact the head teacher of the Patentia Secondary proved futile.
