Leading business professor schools professionals on good leadership skills – 29th Jan 2013
Speaking to Capitol News, after addressing a Leadership Seminar hosted by the Georgetown Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Executive Director of the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business, Professor Miguel Carillo, said, profitability and efficiency are connected to strong leadership, which he believes is lacking in Guyana.
Supervisors and managers form several companies and businesses participated in the programme.
Professor Carillo said, while traditional businesses such as sugar, rice, gold and bauxite contribute greatly to Guyana’s gross domestic product, he believes that time has come to move Guyana’s business to become a more service oriented environment.
Today’s Leadership Seminar was the eight of such kind, organised by the Georgetown Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
