Faster and greater access to local justice system part of Judicial Modernization Programme – 29th Jan 2013
Attorney General, Anil Nandlall, who has lead cabinet responsibility for the Justice and Legal System in the country said, there is a link between a progressive legal system and socio-economic development in a developing country like ours.
Another major part of the Judicial Modernization Programme is finding accommodation for the recently appointed High Court Judges.
Nandlall said, the Government will soon sign an agreement with New Building Society, that will see an acquisition of its old Head Office.
He said, this will be used to house the Deeds and Land Registry.
The Minister said also, that litigation has already started to get access to the First Federation building that will accommodate Judges and specialised courts.
The Minister’s Judicial Modernization Programme is designed to improve the Judiciary and advance the interest of the Guyanese people.
