Sarwan, who last wore the West Indies maroon colour in Australia in the 2010/11 series, has been named in a West Indies squad, to as fate would have it, down under-in Australia, where the West Indies will travel to, in 10 days time.
The right handed batsman who also plays in the English county season; was dropped by the selectors who said his fitness was not up to their set standards; That he has challenged and since won judgement to the tune of 32 million Guyana dollars; Sarwan has played 173 one day internationals for the West Indies scoring over 500 runs at the healthy average of 43:41. 4 centuries and 38 fifties complete his impressive one day credentials. Sarwan who once Captained the West Indies team will be joined on the squad by all-rounder, Narsingh Deonarine.
