Sarwan is back, 32 million dollars and two years later – 16th Jan 2013

shot0013It has taken him almost 2 years and a court battle, which he won, for Ramnaresh Sarwan to find favour with the West Indies Cricket selectors. Sarwan, who last wore the West Indies maroon colour in Australia in the 2010/11 series, has been named in a West Indies squad, to as fate would have it, down under-in Australia, where the West Indies will travel to, in 10 days time.

The right handed batsman who also plays in the English county season; was dropped by the selectors who said his fitness was not up to their set standards; That he has challenged and since won  judgement to the tune of 32 million Guyana dollars; Sarwan  has played 173 one day internationals for the West Indies scoring over 500 runs at the healthy average of 43:41. 4 centuries and 38 fifties complete his impressive one day credentials. Sarwan who once Captained the West Indies team will be joined on the squad by all-rounder, Narsingh Deonarine.
