GT&T to have new Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer – 14th Jan 2013
The Guyana Telephone and Telegraph (GT&T) will have a new Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer. This announcement was made today by the telephone company and takes effect on the first day of March
Radha Krishna Sharma is the new CEO, who was once the Managing Director of the Guyana Bank for Trade Industry (GBTI). The new Chief Financial Officer is Justin Nedd, a former Executive Financial Officer in Canada.
In a press statement GTT noted that Sharma brings to the job over eighteen years of executive management expertise and a wealth of knowledge in the fields of finance, commerce, business strategy and corporate expansion.
A former employee of GTT, Nedd, will return with knowledge and diverse experience and qualifications in a number of industries including telecommunications, Government, manufacturing, and mining.
Sharma will replace Retired Major General, Joseph Singh, while Nedd will take over from Sonita Jagan, the current acting Chief Financial Officer.
Singh and Jagan were installed by the Board of Atlantic Tele Network, GT&T’s parent company, after several persons were sent home and the then CEO, Yog Mahadeo, resigned.
Mahadeo’s resignation last year came after an in depth audit of the company’s operations found several financial irregularities.
