Georgetown Football Association elections set for Saturday – 14th Jan 2013

shot0010Presidential Advisor on Empowerment and President of the Alpha United Football Club, Odinga Lumumba, is said to be in the running for the Leadership of the Georgetown Football Association. He will come up against incumbent, Vernon Burnett, in the highly anticipated elections set for Saturday.

The way for elections was cleared following last Thursday’s deal, clinched between the GFF and the GFA on the intervention of a team from the World Governing Body FIFA and The Regional Body, CONCACAF.

 

 

And Guyana’s cricketers will be looking to beat Jamaica by a good margin to be one of the 3 teams  going forward   in the Caribbean T/ 20 competition. The Guyana team are on eight points but have only played 3 games  like the Windward Islands who have a healthier run rate.

The Guyana side suffered its first defeat on Saturday night at the Hands of tournament favourite, Trinidad.
