Culture Minister threatens legal action against local writer – 14th Jan 2013
The Culture Minister is threatening legal action against local writer, Ruel Johnson, who challenged the Minister to prove that taxpayers money did not pay for the publication of a book written by his daughter.
Johnson, in a letter to Stabroek News, claimed, that the Minister may have misused his office and position to have his daughter’s book published under the Caribbean Press; a state funded entity.
Minister Anthony, in his defence said, that the funds came out of his pocket and all Johnson is asking for is that the Minister to make public, the cost and process of the publication.
For this local writer, he is prepared to take on the Culture Minister in the Courts if that is where the journey leads.
