The Phillip ‘Coachman’ George basketball finals will take place at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on Friday Night. Two finals will be contested on the night; the first will be a 3rd division match-up between Bounty Colts and Pacesetters, while the feature game will have Ravens taking on Republic Bank Nets. Vijay Panday is one of the organizers and he said, they were glad to be finally able to play the final.
And when the action continued in the Banks DIH/GFA Knock-out Tournament, it was an upset of sorts with Kwakwani Strikers sending the Bourda Blues boys GFC, back home defeating them 2-1. Roy Leacock in the 54th and Ted Rogers in the 75th minute scored for the winners while GFC’s goal came from Paul Daniels.
In the first game, Blueberry Hill came through 3-2 against Caribbean United. Quincy Stephens in the 2nd Ronnie Blair in the 10th and Troy Miller in the 55th were the scorers. For Caribbean United, Alston Gardner and Culbert Cully were the scorers. Those matches were shifted to the Tucville Ground in a late decision by the organizers.
Over at the BV Ground, BV/Triumph Scored a 3-1 victory over Timehri Panthers, while Buxton United defeated Winners Connection also by a 3-1 scoreline. The 23rd Kashif ansd Shanghai Tournament continues at the GFC Ground this evening with Western Tigers battling Grove HI-Tec and at 8, Alpha United will tackle Rosignol United.
