Guyanese-owned Jamaican Airline gets green light – 19th Dec 2012
A Guyanese-owned Jamaican Airline, has gotten the green light from US authorities to begin flying there. FLY JAMAICA is expected to start up its service within the next few weeks, operating a charter service initially between Guyana, Jamaica, New York and Toronto.
According to a statement from the airline, Over the past 14 months, the staff at Fly Jamaica, has worked to meet all the requirements set out by the various regulatory bodies.
The statement said, it has been an extremely long process, but today they are able to announce that the final stage of the process has now been completed, and Fly Jamaica now has approval to operate to and from the United States under the Federal Aviation Regulations, part 129.
The airline said, the clearance has long been anticipated, and they are now READY to take to the skies.
Chartered flights will begin this month and they are preparing for the launch of schedule flights by January 2013.
